Simply Simmer Brisket

Recipe Serving Size: 4 ounces
Servings Per Recipe: 8 servings

1    Homemade Gourmet® Simply Simmer Brisket Mix 
1  3-4 pound  brisket, beef roast or pork roast 
1/4  cups  ketchup 
1/4  cups  water 

1. Place the mix, ketchup and water in a bowl and stir to combine.

2. Place brisket (or roast) in the steamer bag, cutting it in half if necessary to allow room for the bag to seal.

3. Add the liquid mixture to the steamer bag, making sure all surfaces of the brisket are covered.

4. Seal the bag tightly, leaving the orange seal in place.

5. Put the bag into a slow cooker set on high. Cook 4 hours (or low 6-8 hours).

6. Remove the meat from the bag and let it rest 10 minutes. Slice to serve or chop to make sandwiches.

7. Use sauce in bag to serve with the brisket.

NOTE: after step 4, you can put the bag into the fridge or freezer to be cooked later. If taking it from freezer, cooking time will need to be extended by up to 2 hours.
