Season ‘n’ Steam Broccoli Beef

Servings Per Recipe: 6 servings

1-1/2  pounds  pounds sirloin steak or tenderized round steak* 
1    Homemade Gourmet® Season 'n' Steam Broccoli Beef Mix 
1/2  cup  water 
2  cups  chopped fresh broccoli 

1. Trim excess fat from meat of choice and cut into 1/4 inch thick strips. Place meat, mix and water into the steamer bag and stir until
well combined. Seal bag and remove orange strip in the direction indicated.***

2. Place in microwave and cook on high for 3 minutes**. Using an oven mitt, remove bag from microwave and open carefully; stir,
reseal bag and return to microwave. Cook on high for an additional 3 minutes**. Again, using an oven mitt, remove bag from
microwave and open carefully; add broccoli and stir; reseal bag and return to microwave. Cook on high for 4 additional minutes**.
Once again, using an oven mitt, remove bag from microwave and let stand for 1-2 minutes or until meal is ready to serve.

3. Serve warm over rice or with additional steamed vegetables.

*11/2 pounds of chicken cut into 1/4 inch thick strips may be substituted. Also, when cutting beef make sure you cut it on the bias. Hold your knife at a 45-degree angle to the meat and thinly slice it across the grain. This will make the cooked beef more tender.

**Cooking times are based on a 1000 watt microwave.

Note: Occasionally steamer bags will open during cooking. If this happens, proceed as directed. It will not alter the cooking process.

***Alternate Slow Cooker Directions: After step #1 above, place bag in slow cooker and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours.
During the last hour, add the broccoli. Serve as suggested in step #3.
